The Bronx Zoo is the largest metropolitan zoo in the USA. It comprises 265 acres of parklands and naturalistic habitats, through which the Bronx River flows. Zoo home to more than 6,000 animals, representing more than 600 species. There are five waterfalls in the "JungleWorld" exhibit and a bubbling stream that circulates 2,000 gallons of water a minute. Visitors to the Bronx Zoo will find a lot of exotic and unique animals, including many that are endangered or rarely seen in the wild. The zoo plays host to everything from gorillas to giraffes to snow leopards, and everything imaginable in-between. With so many incredible animals to see, the Bronx Zoo always has something to do. There are a lot of open exhibits which make you feel close to the animals.
