Accidental Pizzaiolo Mark Iacono opened Lucali as a labor of love, to save the local candy store of his Carroll Gardens youth from an uncertain, generic fate. Since its opening in 2006, this place has been attracting legions of fans for its menu of famous thin blistered wood-fired pies and calzones. There are only two menu items but this place is ranked top pizzeria not only in New York City but in the whole country.
