Wall Street
Wall Street is a famous hiking area known for its narrow canyon walls and hoodoo scenery, making it a top outdoor recreation spot.
Wall Street is one of the most memorable sections of Bryce Canyon’s Navajo Loop Trail, where the path drops between towering orange hoodoos and narrow canyon walls that make the route feel almost like a slot canyon. It is especially striking in the morning light, when the vertical cliffs and layered rock glow with warm color, and it gives hikers a close-up view of the park’s famous erosional landscape. Because it is steep and enclosed, it feels more dramatic than the overlook viewpoints and is a highlight for visitors who want to experience Bryce Canyon on foot.
History
Wall Street is a named section of the Navajo Loop Trail in Bryce Canyon National Park, created as the park’s trail system developed to bring visitors down from the rim into the amphitheater. The route passes through the park’s distinctive Claron Formation hoodoos, which were shaped over long periods by erosion, freeze-thaw weathering, and water action rather than by any single dramatic event.
Expert notes
- Expect a steep, uneven trail with switchbacks; sturdy shoes are important.
- The narrow walls can make the route feel crowded, so go early if you want better photos and fewer people.
- Check current trail conditions in winter or after storms, since ice and snow can make the descent and ascent hazardous.
- This is not a wheelchair-accessible section of trail.
