The 1.25-mile path from the lakefront to Lake Street, Chicago Riverwalk, is an open, pedestrian waterfront located on the Chicago River in downtown Chicago. It connects four distinct districts; The Confluence, The Arcade, The Civic, and the Esplanade, with many places to stop and relax, various tours, and food vendors. The riverwalk offers glamorous architectural views of the city and refuge from the city's hustle and bustle.
There are many shops and cruise options along the route. An excellent place for photography and relaxation, and to get a different point of view of the city.
- The main points of interest on the riverwalk are: 1) The Marina Plaza offers restaurants, outdoor seating, and boat access. 2) The Cove provides human-powered crafts such as Kayaks and canoes. 3) The River Theater has a sculptural staircase linking Upper Wacker Drive and the Riverwalk. 4) The Jetty: a series of piers and floating wetland gardens. 5) The Boardwalk: walkway and lawn area. There are also tour boats on the Chicago River and plenty of buses and taxicabs, which are easily accessible.
