Garden of the Gods

Located about an hour south of the Denver area in Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods is a breathtaking public park featuring towering red sandstone rock formations framed by Pikes Peak. Visitors can explore paved walking paths, scenic hiking trails, rock climbing routes, and photography spots throughout the 1,300-acre natural landmark. Park entry and access to the main park grounds are free to the public.

History

The park was established in 1909 and was gifted to the city of Colorado Springs by the late Charles Elliott Perkins. The unique rock formations were formed millions of years ago through geological processes.
