Kit Carson Park

Kit Carson Park is a spacious 286-acre regional park located in Escondido in North County San Diego. The park features walking trails, three scenic ponds, a five-acre arboretum, sports facilities, and an outdoor amphitheater. It is also home to Queen Califia's Magical Circle, an iconic outdoor sculpture garden created by artist Niki de Saint Phalle.

History

The park is named after Christopher Houston 'Kit' Carson, an American frontiersman. The park has evolved over the years to become a central hub for outdoor activities and community events in Escondido. It's also home to Queen Califia's Magical Circle, the only American sculpture garden and the last major international project created by Niki de Saint Phalle.
