Christ Cathedral Campus

Formerly known as the Crystal Cathedral, the Christ Cathedral Campus in Garden Grove features a world-famous glass sanctuary composed of over 10,000 mirrored panes. The 34-acre campus serves as the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange and includes peaceful gardens, reflective pools, and monumental modern architecture. Visitors can explore the serene grounds, admire the landmark design, or attend regular mass and musical events.

History

The campus's centerpiece, the Crystal Cathedral, was originally constructed in 1980 and designed by renowned architect Philip Johnson. It became a landmark of modernist architecture. In 2012, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange purchased the property and transformed it into the Christ Cathedral, following a significant renovation that preserved its iconic glass-paneled structure.
