Located in Homestead near Miami, Coral Castle is an iconic attraction single-handedly sculpted by Edward Leedskalnin from over 1,000 tons of oolitic limestone. Built without modern heavy machinery, the site remains an enduring engineering mystery and popular South Florida landmark. Visitors can tour the outdoor garden to view intricate stone carvings, astronomical features, and massive working stone gates.

History

Built between 1923 and 1951 by Edward Leedskalnin, Coral Castle was constructed as a testament to his love for a woman named Agnes. Despite being only 5 feet tall and weighing just 100 pounds, Leedskalnin managed to single-handedly carve and transport the massive coral stones, leaving many to wonder about his construction techniques.

Quick tip: Wear sunscreen and a hat for your visit, as the entire attraction is outdoor with very little shade.
