History
Birch Aquarium at Scripps has been the public exploration center for the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego since 1903. It was significantly expanded and renamed in 1992 thanks to a generous gift from the Stephen and Mary Birch Foundation.
