Stuart Collection at UCSD

The Stuart Collection at UC San Diego features a unique array of site-specific contemporary sculptures integrated throughout the university campus. Visitors can self-guide past major works by world-renowned artists, including Niki de Saint Phalle's 'Sun God' and Do Ho Suh's iconic 'Fallen Star' house. Accessible outdoors at any time, the collection seamlessly transforms the campus into an open-air art museum.

History

Established in 1982 through the vision of James Stuart DeSilva and further supported by the Stuart Foundation, the collection aims to enrich the cultural, intellectual, and scholarly life of the university and its surrounding communities. Over the years, it has grown to include works by renowned artists such as Niki de Saint Phalle, Do Ho Suh, and Bruce Nauman.
