Located on Hollywood Boulevard, the historic El Capitan Theatre is Disney's legendary movie palace originally built in 1926. Visitors can catch Disney film screenings paired with pre-show Wurlitzer pipe organ performances and themed costume or prop exhibits. The restored venue offers a classic early-20th-century cinema experience right along the Walk of Fame.

History

Opened in 1926, El Capitan Theatre began as a live stage theater. It was converted into a cinema in the 1940s. The theater underwent a major restoration in the 1980s to bring back its original opulence, spearheaded by The Walt Disney Company and Pacific Theatres.

Quick tip: Arrive early before your scheduled showtime to catch the pre-show organ music and view movie props on display.
