History
El Matador State Beach is one of the three beaches that make up Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach, a small unit of the California State Park system in Malibu. The beach was named for one of the nearby coves and became part of the protected state beach area established to preserve this stretch of undeveloped coastline for public use and enjoyment.
