Katz’s Delicatessen, a popular destination for gastronomers, visitors, and locals since 1888, was founded by the Iceland brothers. They are famous for serving the meats (Pastrami, corned beef, etc.) cured using a slower method, which best flavors the meat, without injecting chemicals, water, or other additives to speed the process. The finished product can take up to a full 30 days to cure, while commercially prepared corned beef is often pressure-injected (or “pumped”) to cure in 36 hours. There is plenty of seating and great pictures all over the walls of famous customers.

Sergimmo Salumeria is an authentic Italian deli and café. Sergio and Massimo (owners) are constantly perfecting the art of cooking modern authentic Italian food with flavorful ingredients. They travel yearly to Sicily for the best cheeses, cured meats, spices, oils, bread, coffee, wine, and new techniques. Their father immigrated to New York City from a small town named Torretta in Palermo, Sicily in 1969. They have taken the Mediterranean "diet" and turned it into a lifestyle in the heart of New York City with their sandwiches, meats, and other meals with precision and love.
