The Guggenheim is one of the most significant museums and UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for its location, unique architecture, art collection from Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early Modern, and contemporary art. Visitors can also enjoy the special exhibitions throughout the year. Inside the building is a unique ramp gallery from ground level to the top in a long, continuous spiral along the outer edge of the building. It is the only landmark in new york that has been compared to the inverted cupcake, giant Jell-O mold & washing machine.
The Guggenheim collection is an impressive collection of masterpieces - including the world’s largest collection of works by Russian artist Kandinsky, with almost 100 paintings and 60 works on paper. The building was built close to the park to ensure that it would fit into the surrounding natural environment.
