4.7$$· ModerateAuthentic Tijuana-style street tacos served fast in bustling standing-room spots
Los Tacos No. 1 brings authentic Mexican street food to New York City with freshly pressed corn or flour tortillas and flavorful fillings like marinated pork adobada and grilled carne asada. Founded by friends from Tijuana and California, this popular taqueria operates high-energy standing-room-only counters where cooks slice meat and assemble tacos right in front of you. Lines move remarkably fast, making it an essential casual stop for locals and visitors alike.
Expert notes
- They make their meat, tortillas, horchata, and other things fresh every day. There is only space for standing up, no seating tables. Tacos made by them are delicious, especially the Adobada (marinated pork) taco. There's also a good selection of Mexican sodas. There’s often no line in the late afternoons.
