Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe

Established in 1993 near Orlando's major resort area, the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe serves both local parishioners and visiting tourists. History

Established in 1984 to accommodate the large number of Catholic tourists visiting the area, the Shrine was elevated to the status of a Minor Basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1999, signifying its importance and sanctity.
