Jack Kerouac House

Located in Orlando's College Park neighborhood, this historic 1920s cottage is where Beat Generation author Jack Kerouac lived from 1957 to 1958 during the release of On the Road. Today, the preserved property is operated by the Kerouac Project as a private residency program for creative writers rather than a regular walk-in museum. Passersby can view the historic exterior and Florida state heritage marker from the sidewalk, or look out for occasional public literary events.

The Jack Kerouac House, also known as the Kerouac Project, is where the famed author lived in 1957 at the peak of his career. It was during his stay in this house that Kerouac received the news that his novel 'On the Road' had been accepted for publication, a pivotal moment in Beat literature.
