History
Originally established in 1996, the museum was founded by the San Diego Chinese Historical Society to preserve and share the Chinese culture and history in San Diego. It began in a building that was once a Chinese mission, saved from demolition and moved to its current location, becoming a cornerstone of cultural preservation and education in the area.
