Spanish Village Art Center
FreeA vibrant historic enclave of working artist studios in Balboa Park
Located in San Diego's Balboa Park, the Spanish Village Art Center features historic Spanish-style architecture and a colorful courtyard paved with painted tiles. Visitors can explore dozens of working studios and galleries to watch local artists practice glassblowing, painting, pottery, and jewelry making. It offers a wonderful opportunity to interact directly with creators and purchase one-of-a-kind artwork.
History
Established in 1935 as part of the California Pacific International Exposition, the Spanish Village Art Center was designed to mimic a charming old village in Spain.
