Situated at Pier 15 along San Francisco's Embarcadero, the Exploratorium is a renowned interactive learning laboratory featuring hundreds of hands-on exhibits. Visitors of all ages can experiment directly with light, sound, physics, and biology across its expansive gallery spaces. On Thursday evenings, the museum opens after hours for After Dark, an adult-focused experience with unique programming.

Quick tip: Book tickets online in advance to reserve your entry time, and consider taking the F Line streetcar directly to Pier 15 to skip expensive parking.

Visitors of all ages can enjoy the 600-plus interactive exhibits, the Tinkerer’s Clock, the toothpick diorama of San Francisco; and the Tactile Dome, Shadow Box, Giant Mirror, Monochromatic Room, Fog Bridge, Anti-Gravity Mirror are people’s favorites. Visitors can also enjoy an adult-only (18+) After dark Thursday night event.
