Website Directions 310-458-8310

Located just steps from the Santa Monica Pier, Tongva Park is a lush six-acre urban park named in honor of the indigenous Tongva people. Designed with striking modern architecture, winding pathways, and native plant gardens, it features unique cocoon-like observation decks with ocean views, a children's play area, and a splash pad. It offers a calm, scenic spot to relax, stroll, or enjoy a picnic near the coast.

History

Named after the indigenous Tongva people who once inhabited the Los Angeles Basin, Tongva Park stands on land that was transformed from an asphalt parking lot to a vibrant public park, officially opening to the public in 2013.

Quick tip: Head up to the elevated observation structures for sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Pier at sunset.
