Telfair Academy

Housed in a grand 1819 neoclassical mansion designed by William Jay, the Telfair Academy is the oldest public art museum in the American South. Visitors can explore 19th- and 20th-century American and European paintings, decorative arts, period rooms, and Savannah's famous 'Bird Girl' statue. It operates as part of Telfair Museums alongside the Jepson Center and Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters.
