The reserve also features picnic areas, scenic mountain overlooks, and sweeping views extending toward the Pacific Ocean on clear days.
History
The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve was established to protect the area's natural beauty and biodiversity. It's named for the dense, miniature forests of California coastal sage scrub and chaparral that blanket the area, creating a magical, elfin-like landscape.
