Lost Dog Cafe was founded in 2002 to create a laid-back beachside eatery serving breakfast all day, with a menu featuring huge breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, and good coffee. The name "Lost Dog Cafe" was inspired by the owners' four-legged advisors, Patch and Hocus, who played a pivotal role in the cafe's inception.
After four years of success, the cafe outgrew its original location on Center Street, prompting a search for a new home. The perfect spot was found in an old laundry mat on West Huron with ample space and beautiful community gardens. After a year of construction and negotiations, the new Lost Dog Cafe opened, continuing to provide a great place for locals and tourists to eat, meet and mingle.
