The Getty Center

Perched on a hilltop in Brentwood, The Getty Center is a modern museum complex featuring European paintings, decorative arts, outdoor sculptures, and meticulously landscaped gardens. Entrance to the museum is free, though advance timed-entry reservations are required.

History

The Getty Center, part of the J. Paul Getty Trust, opened its doors on December 16, 1997. Designed by architect Richard Meier, it is renowned for its innovative design and the philanthropist J. Paul Getty's vision to make art accessible to all.
