Mount Sopris

Mount Sopris does not exist within Great Sand Dunes National Park. The prominent twin-peaked mountain is actually located over 150 miles to the north in the Elk Mountains near Carbondale, Colorado. Visitors to Great Sand Dunes National Park will instead see the Sangre de Cristo Mountains backdrop behind the dunes.
