Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens

History

The zoo began as the Sanford Zoo in 1923 when a small collection of animals were brought together in downtown Sanford. Over the years, it grew in size and scope, moving to its current location in 1975 to become the Central Florida Zoo.
