Wild Goose Island

Wild Goose Island is a tiny, tree-covered islet rising 14 feet above St. Mary Lake in Glacier National Park. Famous for its appearance in the opening sequence of the movie The Shining, it is one of the most photographed natural landmarks in the park. Visitors can easily take in the spectacular view from the roadside overlook along Going-to-the-Sun Road without needing to hike.
