Warner-Carrillo Ranch House

Built in 1857, the Warner-Carrillo Ranch House served as California's first regular overland stage connection on the historic Butterfield route. Located in Warner Springs, this restored adobe ranch house offers visitors a glimpse into early California ranching life and pioneer history. Managed by the Save Our Heritage Organisation, the museum features authentic historical exhibits detailing the region's emigrant trail heritage.

History

Originally built by Vicente Carrillo in 1857, the Warner-Carrillo Ranch House served as the Butterfield Stage Stop and was a pivotal structure in the development of Southern California. It was here that travelers from the East and West would converge, rest, and exchange stories, making it an integral part of the historic Butterfield Overland Mail Route.
