Hirshhorn Museum

History

The Hirshhorn Museum was established in 1966, thanks to the generous donation of art collector Joseph Hirshhorn. It was designed by architect Gordon Bunshaft and has since become a vital part of the Smithsonian Institution, showcasing modern and contemporary art to the public.
