Point Lobos State Natural Reserve

Point Lobos State Natural Reserve is one of California’s most celebrated coastal parks, known for its dramatic rocky shoreline, clear coves, tide pools, and cypress groves. It’s a great place for scenic walks, wildlife watching, and photography, with frequent sightings of sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, and migrating birds. History

Point Lobos has long been recognized for both its natural beauty and its conservation value. The land was once used for grazing and later for limited industrial activity, including whaling and abalone-related use, before being protected as a state reserve in the early 20th century.
