Topanga State Park

History

Once home to the Native American Tongva tribe, Topanga State Park's rich history is evident in the remnants of their village sites. Later, the land became part of the Spanish colonial mission system before turning into ranchland in the American period. It was officially designated as a state park in 1974 to preserve its natural beauty and historical significance.
