Valley of Fire State Park, located just an hour's drive northeast of Las Vegas, is a stunning natural wonder that boasts striking red sandstone formations, ancient petroglyphs, and unparalleled hiking trails. It spans over 40,000 acres and was named for its vibrant red sandstone cliffs formed from ancient sand dunes. It is known as Nevada's oldest and largest park, having been established in 1935. Visitors to the park can explore the various hiking trails, each offering different perspectives of the park's geological beauty, or enjoy a scenic drive along the park's many roads. The park offers many campsites and picnic areas for visitors as well.
